大概半年前，小編報導過原定上年發售的復刻版遊戲機 Mega Drive Mini 將於9月發售，分為日本版與亞洲版、歐美版，所收錄的作品將會有部分差異。最近這款遊戲主機的行貨就抵港發售，型號為 Mega Drive Mini 亞洲版，建議零售價為 HK$560，包含1部主機、2個手掣、19條HDMI線、1條USB電源線 (支援5V/ 1.0A / 5W輸出功率)、使用指南及保養書。內置42款遊戲，主機即插即玩，隨時可重溫當年回憶。

只有原版的55%的 Mega Drive Mini，亞洲版長154mm、寬116mm、高39mm的小型機體。可選擇標準遊戲畫面962×672（原解析度320×224的三倍），或是延伸整體畫面的全螢幕模式 1280×720 解像度。上自動作、射擊，下至益智、RPG、模擬等名作可盡情享受遊玩。Mega Drive Mini 控制器則是以 Mega Drive 眾多控制器中最具人氣的「Fighting Pad 6B」為標準配備。主機是以HDMI來連接電視機，電力則是以USB來供給。所有遊戲均可在遊玩中任意儲存最多4個中途存檔，若是遇到難度較高的關卡或是面對BOSS之前，只要先存檔的話，就可以不斷重新讀取遊玩。

MegaDrive Mini（亞洲版／日本版／歐洲版）與 Genesis Mini（北美專用）支援8種語言。選單會依選擇的語言來顯示，但收錄的遊戲內語言基本僅有日文或英文。Mega Drive 於1988年誕生，是SEGA的第5台家用電視遊戲機。SEGA至今依舊享有人氣的系列作品『索尼克』、『光明』系列皆是在此誕生；而『夢幻之星』與『魔法氣泡』更是因此而成為不可撼動的人氣作品。Mega Drive 自發售後已過了約30年之久，Mega Drive自1996年的『魔導物語Ⅰ』發售以來，已經有20年年以上沒有推出新作品了。

這次為了配合Mega Drive Mini的發售，特地開發了2款新作品收錄其中作為本次的主打之一。1款為Taito Corporation的人氣街機作品『太空戰鬥機』。是將1986年登場的街機版移植至僅有Mega Drive才能完美呈現的作品。亦追加了比街機版還要更難的26名BOSS等Mega Drive版獨有的新要素。而另1款則是無人不曉的全世界最熱門動作益智遊戲『俄羅斯方塊®』。與Mega Drive的發售同於1988的年末推出，亦是SEGA專為遊戲中心所打造的傳說級遊戲。由於2019年剛好迎來俄羅斯方塊的35周年，於是集結現代技術來將這款可說是在日本引發潮流大功臣的初代街機版，忠實地移植過來。
