近日，HTC在美國推出Vive Libraries計劃，將向內華達州及加利福尼亞州的110個圖書館，當中會向加利福尼亞州捐贈100多個VR裝備，以建立Vive Libraries的末來圖書館的初形。

而對於圖書館計劃的內容，HTC已經推出一份「超過35 種最具沉浸式的教育和體驗型VR 應用」，當中可以讓圖書館讀書藉VR裝置，回顧歷史如親臨柏林圍牆、出進太空如國際空間站等，又或者在海洋世界，與鯊魚一起游泳，建立3D 模型或冥想等操作。

隨著VR應用的擴展，有評論指這項計劃將為圖書館帶來一場革命，是未來圖書館的初形，也是公共借用及傳媒革命的開始。原來HTC早在2017年年底，就與中國新聞出版研究院及青島出版集團，就共冊推出「中國VR 閱讀平台」，一樣基於Vive Libraries，向學校、圖書館、科技館、博物館、書店、景點等，提VR裝置及數碼資訊的體驗。
