上一則新聞《intel Core X家族登場，被爆棄釬焊而用矽脂導熱！》報導過，超頻玩家der8auer透過開蓋，揭發Core X系列處理器棄釬焊而用矽脂導熱技術，這到底會否影響超頻的用家！要知道Intel Ivy Bridge處理器開始，矽脂散熱就成超頻的最大阻力。雖說如此，現在有用家已經將Core i9-7900X超頻到5.7GHz，打破Cinebench R15與R11.5的最高紀錄。
根據外媒報導，有玩家將Core i9-7900X超頻到5755MHz，在Cinebench R15分數高達3181分，而在Cinebench R11.5中Elmor又將Core i9-7900X頻率超到5785MHz，10核記錄也提高到34.79分。這兩個新記錄都是通過ASUS Rampage VI Apex X299與G.SKILL Trident Z DDR4記憶體還有液氮下實現的。
